Wayne McGregor Artistic Director A native of Cheshire, Wayne McGregor studied dance at University College Bretton Hall. He later studied in New York at the Jose Limon School In 1992 he founded Random and was subsequently appointed choreographer in residence at The Place. McGregor's idiosyncratic movement style continues to evolve through his prolific collaborations. His work for Random has lead to critically acclaimed national and international tours and invitations to choreograph for opera, theatre, television and film, in galleries and public spaces and for other dance companies. Commissions include Medusa for Italy's Olympic Ballet of Milan;
Intertense for Shobana Jeyasingh Dance Conpany; Urban Savage for Ricochet Dance Company, a duet with Anthonia Francheschi of New York City Ballet, Esc... Otherspace a duet with Catherine Battcheler of Birmingham Royal Ballet and Skinned Prey for 4D. Outside dance, McGregor has choreographed Anthony and Cleopatra and Л Little Night Music for the National Theatre, Salome for English National Opera, The Marriage of Figaro and Orpheus et Eurydice for Scottish National Opera and Cleansed for The Royal Court. Film work includes the motion picture Bent, starring lan McKellan and Mick dagger. He has appeared in ASD's Eurostar com-
merdai and made Ceßit dancers for Ericsson. Nominated in 1996 for an Oliver award for Best Choreographer for A Little Night Music, McGregor was also a recipient of the prestigious Arts Foundation Fellowship in Choreography in 1994. He has represented Britain throughout the world in Bancs d’Essai internationaux; SKITE project in Lisbon and the European Choreographic Forum. In 1997 McGregor was awarded a Lisa Ullmann travel scholarship for research into dance and technology. In 1998 he was awarded the Prix d'auteur du conseil general de Seine-Saint-Denis and Ľ Adami Prize for Performance.
