MAJA PELEVIČ
was born in 1981. She graduated in dramaturgy from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade and defended her doctoral thesis at the Department for the Theory of Arts and Media of the University of Arts in Belgrade. For many years she has been a member of the project entitled New Drama for the Development of the Modern Dramatic Text. Since October 2005 a member of the editorial board of the theatre magazine "Scena". In 2007-2010 she was the dramaturgist of the National Theatre in
Belgrade. Her plays have been translated into English, French, German, Russian, Norwegian, Polish, Slovakian, Czech, Hungarian, Bulgarian, Slovenian and Ukrainian. Produced plays: ESCape: Out of gear, Fake Porno (with M.Bogavac, J. Bogavac and F. Vujošević); Be Lady For A Day: Belgrade-Berlin: Orange Peel: Me or Somebody Else: Jumpgirl; Signpost- Endlessly Close, Endlessly far Hamlet Hamlet Eurotrash (text and direction with Filip Vujošević); Perhaps We are Mickey Mouse: Fokebook (with M.Bogavac, M. Markovič and F. Vujošević);
Strange Loves (musical for children); They Live (with Milan Markovič). Awards: Slobodan Selenić for the best graduation drama BelgradeBerlin in 2005; Borislav Mihajlović Mihiz for playwrighting in 2006; Sterijino Pozorje Award for the original play Perhaps We are Mickey Mouse in 2007; Božidar Valtrović for artistic achievement in the development of the children's and youth theatre in 2010; Sterija Award for Orange Peel as the best drama text at Sterijino Pozorje 2010.
