We have therefore shown the dependence of TV viewing on possession of a set in fig, 3, which illustrates that the phenomenon completely supports the trend shown in fig, 2 but it is slightly milder. For people living in households with TV sets too their interest in watching TV may be said to show a positive dependence on the level of schooling. The influence of economic factors and others аге not crucial, but those of education and age аге. This means, then, that it can be said of television that it is the medium of the young and the educated, notwithstanding the fact that it has only existed in this country for a short time. From what has been said now, it can be indirectly inferred that the so-called active population shows a somewhat greater preference for television than those who аге being supported (pupils, housev/ives and so on) and, considering that one section of the population works in shifts an experiment of broadcasting some programmes from the »impact« time and rescreening a selected part of the programme in the aftemoon hours, could be worthy of attention.
