Between 1972 anđ 1977, blacks purchased г/. of the radio stations sold In the U.S. Between 1978 and 1979, after the introduction, of incentives , this percentage remained the same . The ratio of black to white purchases increased to 3/ between 1980 and 1981, but considering the small number of black stations purchased , this is not a substantial increase . Unfortunatel/ data were unavailable for 1982 and 1983 because of changes m the public đata collection and reporting sources , but at least through the enđ of 198 1 incentives did not appear to contrlbute to a large increase in black ownership relative to overall ownership of radio properties . 3 .
