Earlier this year Javier received the 1997 South Bank Show Award for outstanding achievements in dance. Michael Mannion (Lighting Designer) Michael Mannion is a partner in the lighting consultancy Eye For Detail. He has produced lighting designs for Architecture, Theatre, Film and Dance. Within the dance field he has a long standing relationship with Javier De Frutos, The Hypochondriac Bird is his eleventh design for Javier, and has produced designs for many other companies, including: Small bones Dance Company (Paul Douglas), CandoCo, Ricochet Dance Company, Mark Baldwin, Matthew Hart, Jordi Cortez, Ballet Schindowski (Germany), The Physical Theatre Company (South Africa), Athina Vahla, Clare Baker, Oracle Dance Company, Suraya Hilal and The National Youth Dance Company. Terry Warner (Set Designer) Terry was born in Adelaide, Australia and moved to Europe in 1991. He has collaborated with Javier De Frutos from 1993, working on Dialogue between Hemispheres, The Palace Does Not Forgive, Gota A Gota, Meeting J, Carnal Glory as part of the

Feminine/Masculine exhibition at the Pompidou Centre in Paris, La Mer at the South Bank Centre, Transatlantic, The Golden Impossibility and most recently Grass. He has also designed for Alex Makulu (Uganda) and will be working with Clare Baker in the Autumn of 1998. Jamie Watton (Rehearsal Director and Dancer) Jamie trained in Dance Theatre at the Laban Centre, London before graduating from Transitions Dance Company in 1990. He has subsequently performed with a number of companies including Adventures in Motion Pictures, Yolanda Snaith Theatradance, Angelika Oei Dance Company in The Netherlands and most recently with Javier De Frutos. In 1993 he began to collaborate with Fiona Edwards forming the company, Edwards and Watton, with whom he makes and tours work. Recent projects for the company include, EXIT, a BBC/Arts Council commission for the Dance for the Camera season, and Haouse of Delights, a site specific work commissioned by Greenwich Dance Agency, which received a Time Out award for dance. Pary Naden (Rehearsal Director) Pary was born in Hastings, East Sussex. She is a BA Hons, graduate (1992) of Roehampton University and trained at London Contemporary Dance School. She was a member of the National Youth Dance Company (1992) where she worked with the choreographers. Lea Anderson, Richard Alston and Peter Badejo. Since Leaving NYDC she has worked with Henri Oguike, Colin Poole, Gary Lambeert and for four years running, Charles Linehan. She last danced with Javier De Frutos in the award winning "grass".
