Radio - Television Zagreb Radio-Television Zagreb is the home radio broadcasting organization of tbe Socialist Republic of Croatia. Technical Base MW transmitters 19 625 USW transmitters 23 139 TV transmitters 13 166 TV converters 71 g Radio Zagreb initiated its activities on 15 Мау, 1926 and now it features four regular programs. First Program broadcasts a daily program from 5.00 to 24,00 on MW and a night program from 24.00 to 5.00. Its program is universal in character and has informative-political, cultural-artistic, educational and entertainment shows. Widely listened abroad, it is very popular among our vvorkers there and it is also on invaluable link to the country for our sailors around the world. These are important components of the First Program in Radio Zagreb’s endeavor to саггу out its overall public function. Second Program is broadcasted daily from 7.00 to 21.00 on the microwave network. It mostly offers documentaries and entertainment and is geared toward wide appeal. In the system of radio broadcasting in Croatia, it plays an especially integrative function as, via the microwave network, the regional radio-television centers anđ some local radio stations can directly participate. Third Program is broadcasted daily from 21.00 to 24.00 on the same microwave network after the end of the Second Program. This program studiously treats topics related to civic issues, culture, art and science. Radio Sljeme is broadcasted daily from 12.00 to 19.00. Its program is limited to the region of Zagreb and it reports on civic events in the industrial and cultural center of the Socialist Republic of Croatia. Radio Zagreb has traditionally played a leading role in promoting music and many ensembles have developed here, some of which have gained international repute (the Zagreb Soloists).
