BITEF POLYPHONY 2003.

THIS IS THE REAL WORLD Why Theatre...

Bitef Polyphony 2003 is entitled "This is the Real World - Why Theatre". With this title, Bitef Polyphony adds to the issues originating from the main topic of 37th Bitef. Through participation and exchange of experiences of local and international participants, seminars and workshops of Bitef Polyphony 2003 will, as always, present innovative, participatory and interactive programs and projects in which theatric artists fully contribute through artistic, pedagogical and social engagement. Bitef Polyphony 2003 will consist of one three-day seminar and several training workshops. The focus will be on presenting existing and potential forms and new tendencies worldwide and locally, known as Drama/Theatre in Education. The immediate work will deal with issues of developmental trends and their coherence or contradiction in the world, as well as the challenge set by entering such a process, i.e. questions unfolding and looking for answers, as is the case here, regarding the introduction of drama and movement in official educational system/curriculum. Participants of Bitef Polyphony 2003 will be theatre artists, experts from the field of education, teachers from

schools and students of arts (performing arts in particular) and teaching faculties, interested in the matter.

Tuesday, September 15th 11 a.m. "CREATING BRIDGES" Opening - round table - workshop. inntroduction to drama/theatre in education. Drama and curriculum. International practice. A step towards Balkans association of drama in education. 15 p.m. "QUESTION MARKS" Performance - workshop - discussion. Open work in process of Mimart Movement Theatre, devising the performance "Voyage through Grammar", based on Jovan Cirilov's poetry book with the same title. Presentation of method of work through interpolation of philosophy of play and philosophy of word in the form of initial performance "Question Mark" Faciiiltator: Nela Antonović with associates and guests. Wednesday, September 17th 11 a.m. "EVEN THE WORLD GREW UP THROUGH CHANGES" Performance as stimuli - workshop - process evaluation Actors introduce spectators into the story. Processing educative content through drama structures and work with materials. Workshop is dedicated to Planet Earth and explores issues of Creation and value of life, creation of nature and creation of man, and long time and large investments aiming at perserving the creations and enabling their contiunance through changes and ever new growth and development. 15 p.m. "WIND BLOWS THROUGH ME" Part of the performance - workshop - mutual finalizing the performance This performance/workshop of ERGstatus Dance Theatre explores the role of the metaphor ad movement as expression. Dance theatre provides for abundant and powerful source of images and inspires participants to reach for universal issues.
