sterdam.For this worldwide acclaimed theatre musical piece, Heiner Goebbels received more than six European theatre prizes, such as the Herald Angel Award 2004 at Edinburgh International Festival, the Prize Opus Stage, the "Grand Prix de la Critique 2005", the "Grand Prix "Mira Trailovic" in 2005 at the 39th Bitef Festival of Belgrade and some more. KLAUS GRUENBERG, set designer Born in Hamburg, studied set design with Erich Wonder in Klaus Grünberg Vienna and is working since then as a freelance set and Set design and lighting designer at theaters and opera houses in Europe light as well as in Buenos Aires and Kuwait-among others with the directors Tatjana ürbaca, Barrie Kosky, Sebastian Baumgarten, André Wilms, Thilo Reinhardt, Antoine Gindt, Heiner Goebbels and Christof Nel. With Tatjana Gürbaca he was working on Turandot and Rigoletto at Oper Graz, Strawinsky's Mavra on a truck for the Staatsoper Berlin, Dido and Aeneas at the Festspielhaus Baden Baden, the world premiere of Philippe Hersant's The Black Monk at the Oper Leipzig and Le Grand acabre at Theater Bremen. For Barrie Kosky he was designing L'Orfeo at the Staatsoper Berlin,Figaro and Iphigenie auf Tauris at the Komische Oper Berlin, Lohengrin at Vienna State Opera and The Flying Dutchman and Tristan and Isolde at Aalto Theater Essen. With the composer and director Heiner Goebbels he is developing reguiarily music-theater pieces e.g. Max Black, Hashirigaki, Landscape with Distant Relatives, Eraritjaritjaka and Stifters Dinge which are shown around the world. In 1999 he also opened the MOMOLMA (Museum of More or Less Modern Art) in Hamburg. In 2008 he is designing the set for Kiss me Kate at the Komische Oper Berlin, Carmen at the Oper Leipzig as well as for a new production by Heiner Goebbels at the Théâtre Vidy-Lausanne with the Hilliard Ensemble.
