THE HEALTH SYSTEM MANAGEMENT
Summary
Just as the development of health management has been influenced by the overall social development and by the development of management in general, the development of health management has further had a considerable impact on the development of the health care system.
The health care system is very well-established today, particularly in the developed countries. This system is absolutely necessary for every single society and its social and economic development. However, given the fact that it is constantly growing more complex and complicated and that it employs a huge number of qualified personnel, the health care system consumes a large part of the total national income. For all these reasons, this system must be managed and run on the basis of a clear concept of development, relevant principles and good management.
Considering the above, it may be concluded that the influence of health management on the health system (and vice-versa) was different in various periods of the overall social development as well as in various periods of development of the health care system, the health insurance system and the general health of the population.
In managing the health care system, there is a growing trend towards decentralization by transfering authorities and funds to the middle and the lower parts of the health care system. Besides, there is an ever-growing need for well-educated health personnel.
