Petr Niki (snimio Jovan Cirilov)

Gallery, and his work is a part of the collection of the National Gallery in Prague. In 1996, Petr Niki received the Chalupecky Award, the highest prize which is awarded to the most outstanding visual artist in the Czech Republic. Jana Svobodová Jana Svobodová studied puppetry at the Prague theatre Academy and eventually branched into acting, dance and movement theatre. Her most recent collaborative works were greatly influenced by her involvement in the performances of Peter Schumann (The Bread and Puppet Theater, USA) which were developed in Prague and the United States, as well as in Stuttgart and Dachau, Germany. She has also been powerfully influenced by Japanese dancer/choreographer Min Tanaka. She has

taught many of her skills to students at the Acting Conservatory in Prague. Currently, she conducts movement classes weekly at the Archa Theatre Studio, and performs in the Czech-American production of "Sweet Theresienstadt". Vojtech and Irena Havel For many years, Vojtech and Irena Havel have been important figures in the Czech music scene. The combination of classical and contemporary music is illustrated with influences of jazz and ethno music. Their approach to music is reflected through their choice of the instruments they use - combining the sounds of modern instruments, such as the cello, with the Baroque viola da gamba. As composers, they have written several scores for theatre productions and films. For some projects, they work with a larger company of musicians under the name Capelia Antiqua e Moderna. They tour Europe regularly, and have released several recordings including Hâta H (Primus, 1990), Tenderly to the Light (EMI, 1994), Agni (EMI, 1995), and Vanity of Wings (Bonton, 1996). Solstice Regardless of which country you are in when you look at the sun, it alway appears to be the same. But it is not. It shines from a different angle in south Africa of Japan than it does in Europe. The Solstice ensemble is a variable company of performers, requiring the basic human need to play, or "to return to some place" because, as the German poet Christian Morgenstern, once said "in every human being a child is hidden..." This is not a usual theatre company who realises traditional dramatic forms based on scripts, but this is a group of people who meet each player with his own different experience (actors, fine artists, musicians)
