The ultimate collection of his poems, written between 1953 and 2005, was published in two volumes by"Stubovi (culture" ( Poems, Volume One and Poems, Volume Two). Three out of four of Simovic's plays have been performed in nearly all the theatres of former Yugoslavia: Hasanaginica (premierein 1974, on Main stage of the National Theatre in Belgrade, directed by Zeljko Oreskovic), Cudo и Sarganu (The Shargan Miracle - 1975 at Atelje 212, directed by Mira Trailovic) and Putujuce pozoriste Sopalovic (The Travelling Troupe Sopalovic - 1985, Yugoslav Drama Theatre, directed by Dejan Mijac), whilst his fourth play BojnaKosovu (Battle of Kosovo) was adapted into a screenplay in 1989, for the film of the same name, directed by Zdravko Sotra. The second, shorter, definitive edition of Bojna Kosovu was published in 2003. Simovic's poems and plays have been translated and published in many languages, either separately, in the literary anthologies or anthologies of plays, magazines and publications. His play The Travelling Troupe Sopalovic achieved greatest acclaim abroad.
