TOMI JANEZIC Tomi Janezic teaches acting and practical directing at AGRFT (the Academy for Theatre, Radio, Film and TV in Ljubljana). Fie also teaches within the Section for Set Design at the Interdisciplinary PhD studies of the University of Arts in Belgrade, and has taught at the Academy of Arts of the University in Osijek (Croatia), at graduate and postgraduate studies of the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad and numerous acting seminars and workshops in a number of countries. As a theatre director, he has worked as a director at national, municipal and other theatres and independent productions in the majority of countries of former Yugoslavia. Since 1996, he has been Artistic Director and since 2004 also the Director of Studies for Research in the Art of Acting (Studio za raziskavo umetnosti) in Ljubljana, where he - with the help of fellow organizations and experts from abroad - does research in the field of acting. Since 2005, he has also been involved, amongst other things, in the international research programme - Potentials in acting. According to Ognjenka Milicevic, "Fie is one of the rare researchers of acting today in Europe", "an excellent interpreter of the Stanislavski method" (Jana Pavlic),"the director of one of the best Chekhovs I have ever seen, one of those who has undoubtedly found what generations and generations of directors worldwide have been looking for" (J. Cirilov), a teacher of »the best trained actors in the method, their talent and desire to learn reminded me of the Actors Studio in the period between 1968 until the death of Strasberg","one of the most creative people I have had the fortune to meet" (Ed Covens), director of a play of "the highest excellence in the art of acting", which "really shifts the parameters of our emotional and intellectual reality"(Natasa Govedic),"a virtual contemporary theatrical Mozart" (prof. Darko Gasparovic). Fie has won many awards both in Slovenia and abroad. Fie graduated in Theatre Direction (1998) and received his Master's Degree (2001) from the Academy for Theatre, Radio, Film and TV in Ljubljana, receiving additional education in Slovenia and around the world, primarily in the field of different acting techniques. Fie is currently preparing his PhD at the University of Arts in Belgrade. For the forthcoming season in Slovenia he is (again) preparing Shakespeare's King Lear and M.Bulgakov's Moliere.
