theatreserbia.net Networking and international cooperation Panel discussion Tuesday, September 21, 2010,16 h - Bitef Art café Theatreserbia.net is the result of an international initiative proposed by the University of Arts in Belgrade (Serbia), Theatre Bristol organisation from Bristol (United Kingdom) and NATFA, the National Academy for Theatre and Film Art in Sofia (Bulgaria) with the support of the Creative Collaborations programme of the British Council. The portal offers a comprehensive source of information of relevance to the theatre community in Serbia and is intended to inform, educate, promote, advertise and wire up in order to strengthen Serbia's theatre stage, nationally and internationally. It is bilingual, in Serbian and English, and the site users will create themselves its contents ensuring an interactive approach and a dynamic exchange of information. The users will be able to find (and post) diverse contents, from job advertisements to lifelong education-related information, a database about theatre spaces in Serbia, IDs of the formal and informal theatre companies and theatres in Serbia to highly specific information and advice concerning the international marketing of productions. By combining all these elements, www.theatreserbia.net becomes an info-portal and a place with all relevant information about the theatre life in Serbia. This internet site is supported by a team of creative producers in Serbia and the United Kingdom whose professional expertise and experience should help to open up Serbia's theatre to other markets through networking, creative forms of fund-raising, consultations regarding legal regulations in other countries, possible forms of co-production and promotion and all other forms of assistance. On the occasion ofthe official launching ofwww.theatreserbia.net site as a Bitef side programme, there will be a panel International Cooperation and Networking in the Theatre to discuss former practices and case studies; differences in the Internationa I cooperation of repertory and independent theatres and what we need to do to ensure our bigger presence in other theatre environments. The panel will bring together participants on the local theatre stage and their exchange of ideas and experiences will be moderated by Milena Dragićević Šešić, PhD, professor at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade and the producer Aleksandar Brkić, MA.
