BISSERKA VASSILEVA KOLEVSKA Bisserka Vassileva Kolevska was born in 1960, in Sofia, Bulgaria. 1982 she graduated at the Theatre Academy "Krsto Saratov", majoring in Puppet Directing. Since 1988 she works as a director for the Bulgarian National Television, where she has directed "1001 Nights" and "The Magic Pendulum". She is also the author of following short-length films: "The Fairy Party", "My Little Dragon" and "The Sacred Books". From 1982 to 1988 she worked for many Bulgarian Puppet Theaters - in Haskovo, Stara Zagora, Widin, Dobrich and Sofia, directing plays like "Pictures from an Exposition", "The Bad
Boy", "The Cat and the Dog", "Snowhite and the seven Dwarfs" etc. In 1993. she directed "Apocalypses" in Puppet Theatre in Sofia, next year -"The Sacred Book" in Puppet Theatre "Vidin", and in 1998 she worked in Banja Luka, Republika Srpska, directing the play "The Sad Prince" by Predrag Bjelosevic. This production has won the first prize at the Festival of Children's Theatre in Kotor, Yuogoslavia. She has received many international awards for both - theatre and television directing, at the festivals in Italy, France (Montreux), Japan (Tokyo), Yugoslavia (Subotica, Kotor, Bar) and Bulgaria (SLiven, Plovdiv, etc). With her works, she has also participated at international festivals and Tours in Russia, Poland, Austria, Germany, South America, Switzerland and Greece. She teaches Puppet Direction at the University of Piza, Italy.
