ABOUT DIRECTOR Andrea Paciotto is a Director dedicated to the creation and development of international projects in the contemporary performing arts. He began studying theatre as an actor in Italy at Perugia's University Theatre Center and at the Fondazione Teatro Pontedera. After working as an actor/performer in Italy and abroad with directors such as Andrei Serban, Luca Ronconi, Ellen Stewart, Jerzy Sthur among others, in 1994 he began focusing more towards directing and creating performances. He continued studying at the City University of New York where he received a B.A in Theatre and M.F.A. in Directing. In September 2000 he joined Amsterdam's DasArts, Advance Research in Theatre and Dance, where he carried on a series of research projects on the application of new media in live performances. His previous works have been presented predominantly in the United States, Latin America and Europe. In the United States he has worked as Resident Director of La MaMa Experimental Theatre Company since 1990, developing international theatre projects. He has also collaborated as coordinator of the art residency La MaMa Umbria International in Spoleto, Italy. In Mexico he has worked for several Cultural and Governmental Institutions and with independent groups, in projects spanning form large multimedia events, classical operas as well as theatre performance with local Indian Communities, in Europe his works have been shown in Festivals and venues in Italy, The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Turkey, Serbia, Switzerland and Macedonia. Besides directing performances, Andrea has also created short films and documentaries, designed installations and collaborated in developing cultural events and educational projects. Andrea has conducted workshops on different aspect of theatre making at La MaMa, at the Centro Universitario Teatrale of Viterbo, at the Escuela Nacional de Danza in Mexico City, at the DasArts center in Amsterdam and at the Natonal Theatre in Belgrade, He isa guest professor in the Theatre Performance Department of the Theatre Academy in Maastricht, Andrea Paciotto is the director and founder of OFFUCINA ECLECTIC ARTS, a multimedia production company based in Spoleto, Italy, dedicated to creation of arts project in the field of performance arts and new media technologies.
