"Nothing is terrible, everything is terrible. Nothing is comic, everything is tragic. Nothing is tragic, everything is comic, everything is real, unreal, impossible, understandable, incomprehensible. Everything is difficult, everything is easy." £ lonesko When the two brothers take up arms against each others (and then even in death they cannot be equally buried) in my country we immediately recognize our story - this is our tragedy. To live in such a "tragic" period, as ours is, almost obliges us to go back to the source of the tragedy... and that of course is the classic tragedy. More than ten years ago, in the play Seven Against Thebes, I first started researching this horrific continuity of the curse that was cast on Oedipus' (Laius') people, and started recognizing it as our own. Antigone was in a way the continuation of this research (one of the pro- , tagonists that nurtured my faith in a higher sense and structure of things, without which everything would be completely senseless). My Homeland - Seven Dreams is the third and last part of this intimate cycle. Seven stories, "dreams" are something like a sublimation of a single insanity, where there is no clear difference between what is real and what is unreal, nor between what is true, false... a dreadful feeling of changing nature of all things, where it is only certain that for power brother slays brother - time and time again...
