Bitef

CONSTANZA MACRAS was bom in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she studied dance and fashion design, developing her own work and dancing with various groups. She continued her dance studies in Amsterdam and New York, in 1995, Macras moved to Berlin, dancing for various companies, and in 1997, she founded her own company Tamagotchi Y2K. Between 1998 and 2000, Tamagotchi Y2K presented four pieces: Wild Switzerland (1998), Face One (1999), In Between (2000) and the project Dolce Vita (2000), a site-specific live music performance that combined artists from various disciplines. It was created as an one-time event for each specific location. From 2001 to 2002, Macras developed and presented the MIR: A Love Story trilogy (Prologue, The Conquer and Endurance) in collaboration with Sophiensaele. In 2002, she also curated the project PORNOsotros, where she performed together with Lisi Estaras (Ballets C. de la B.) under the direction of different directors four short pieces dealing with the subject of pornography. The project was a production of Schaubuehne am Lehniner Platz and Grand Théâtre Groningen. Since 2003, Macras has worked with her company CONSTANZA MACRAS | DORKYPARK and as a guest in: - Saarlaendisches Staatstheater where she created the piece Happiness (2003) - Pegarle a la Boisa (2004) a commission from the Goethe-Institut Cordoba (Argentina), - No Wonder in collaboration with Lisi Estaras (2005), Hebbel am Ufer - A Midsummernightsdream together with Thomas Ostermeier a piece with dancers and actors, premiered at Hellenic Festival 2006 and Schaubuehne am Lehniner Platz. She has taught workshops and master classes in Japan, the United States, India, Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, the Hochschule fuer Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch and Hochschule fuer Music, Berlin. KATARINA PEJOVIC(I962) is dramaturg and intermedia artist. She worked and still does as: author of intermedia projects, video works, documentary movies and experimental audio works; dramaturg; writer; pedagogue and translator. Her works were presented and produced by «unstkanaal. Theater Instituut Nederlands, Felix Meritis, De Balie (The Netherlands), Kapelica Gallery, Dance Theatre Ljubljana, Egon March Institute, DUM - Artists'Association, Museum Association (Slovenia), Teatro Cinema Lux and Fabbrica Europa (Italy) and Bacaci Sjenki (Croatia), as well as featured at numerous international festivals including LIFT-London, Wiener Festwochen, Ars Electronica, Steirischer Herbst, New Moves, Eurokaz, Urbanfestival, FIAT, Parma Theatre Festival, Sommerfestijn, Stagione di Caccia and Bitef. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with numerous directors, artists, producers and programmers, among them, Roberto Ciulli, Ljubisa Ristic, Dragan Zivadinov, Dusan Jovanovic, Dragan Klaic, Steve Austen, Linda Bouws, Marko Kosnik, Mateja Bucar, Valentina Cabro, Borut Separovic, Boris Bakal. Together with Boris Bakal, she is co-founder and co-author of the projects of Bacaci Sjenki, the artistic organization that won the Special Jury Prize of 41 Bitef 07 with their performance Ex-position. She lives and works in Zagreb.

jf- Grand Prix Bitef took name after its founder Mira Trailovic in 1990. The performance Big in Bombay directed by Constanza Macras took part in 40 Bitef 06. Katarina Pejovicis one of the dramaturges of Ex-pozicija, which was performed at 41 Bitef 07.
