OLD-AGE PENSION IN THE LAW OF THE EUROPEAN UNION COUNTRIES
SUMMARY
The subject dealt with in this text is old-age pension in the law of the countries of the European Union. Explanation of this matter is systematized as follows: conditions for achieving of this right, kinds of old-age pensions, defining and extent, adjustment and use of old-age pension. The author explains the old-age pension making separately comparative analyses of the insurance system for the case of old age- in the above mentioned countries, particularly pointing out theoretical conception and legal solutions existing in the Federal Republic of Germany, France, Austria, Great Britain and Sweden. To attach such importance to the systems of these countries is not unfounded and unjustified, because the legislation and practical experience in this field are the oldest and most experienced ones in these countries. Also their exsisting jurisprudence is the most effective and authoritative on the Continent and all over the world. However, some decisions in the Law of other counties of the European Union (Belgium, Denmark, Italy, Holland, etc.) will not be omitted in the scope of our research. But those decisions would be taken into consideration only if they were of particular importance, i.e., if they answered significantly different to the same questions.
