Dve godine docnije, Timi i Gbonka ponovo dolaze kod Alafina i traže rat. Ne osvróu se na Alafinove molbe i odlaze u gnevu. Oni prete pobunom. Ostavši sam, Alafin prebacuje sebi za popustljivost prema generalima, koji su postali tako jaki, da su potpuno izmakli njegovoj kontroli. Kako da održi obeóanje koje je dao narodu Oyoa? Ulazi njegova omiljena žena Oya, koja je čula taj razgovor, i predlaže mu plan koji je ona smislila. Alafin saziva sastanak svih poglavica; šalje Timija u Ede, kao čuvara gradske kapije, u nadi da ce ga pripadnici naroda ijeshas übiti. Međutim, stigavši u Ede Timi zadobija opšte poštovanje i Ijubav i gradani ga biraju za kralja. Alafin se zbog toga našao u još veóim neprilikama. Oya nagovara Shangoa da pošalje Gbonka u Ede da se bori protiv Timija, s tim da ga übije ili da bude i sam übijen.

Gbonka stiže u Ede; počinje borba i Gbonka, zahvaljujući moćnim vradžbinama, uspavljuje Timija. Dovodi Timija zivog kod Shangoa. Ponovo izbijaju nemiri, jer su obojica opet u Oyou. Gradani dolaze kod Shangoa, da ga podsete na dato obećanje. Svi se razilaze i Shango ostaje sam. Ponovo ga obuzimaju brige. Dolazi Oya i savetuje mu, da preko poglayara ugovori ponovnu borbu izmedu Timija ii Gbonke na trgu Akosana, gde óe sav narod moći da je prati. Nadajuói se da óe bar jedan od njih, a možda i obojica, poginuti, Alafin poziva glasnike i preko njih objavljuje narodu, da óe se prirediti narodna svetkovina, na kojoj će doći do borbe izmedu Gbonke i Timija. Timi gori od želje da se bori, ali Gbonka strahuje od Timijeve veštine u rukovanju lukom 1 strelama i rešava se da potraži pomoó.

Pojavljuje se Gbonka i priziva vešticu. Posto je primila bógate darove, veštica pristaje da mu pomogne. Čuje se krik ptica. VeStica je pripremila óaroban napitak za Gbonku, koji ga ispija i postaje jak.

Borba: Timi podize luk, ali ga Gbonka ponovo uspavljuje, zahvaljujuói napitku veštice. Gbonka koristi priliku i odseca mu glavu. Alafin je besan; na traženje samoga Gbonke naređuje da ga spale, ali Gbonka izlazi nepovreden iz vatre. Narod u panici beži, Nadmoćnost Gbonke Je očigledna. iz grada dopire buka. Narod se pobunio. Obuzet besom, Shango übija nekolicinu, ostali beže. Shango

ostaje sam. Postaje mu jasno da je grad protiv njega I zato se odlučuje na abdikaciju. Poziva svoje žene da pođu sa njim, all jedino Oya pristaje da ga prati. Zabrinut i besan napušta grad.

Suma. Oya nariče nad telom Shangoa, koji je izvrsio samoubistvo. Dolazi narodno izaslanstvo. Svi se kaju, što su se pobunili protiv Alafina. Mole ga da ih zastiti od Gbonke. Opšta žalost na vest o njegovoj smrti. Mole ga da im se vrati.

Žene kroz pesmu velióaju Alafina Shangoa. Dolazi delegacija građana koja prióa o stalnoj grmljavini i požarima. Obraćaju se Shangou i mole ga za pomoó. Čuje se Shangov glas koji dopire sa visina. Govori im, da ce ostati sa svojim precima; ali, ako se uveri u njihovu odanost bióe uvek uz njih. Obeóava im, da će suzbijati njihove neprijatelje uz pomoó grama. Čuju se glasni povici naroda OBA KOSO.

scene 1

The play opens with wives of Alafin Sango paying homage to him in the inner palace. General rejoicing and drumming. Alafin Sango receives the victories generals Timi and Gbonka-Ebiti who have returned with loot and slaves. The townspeople come to complain about the continuous warfare. Timi and Gbonka are conscious of the protest. They plan to be troublesome. The people stress more about warfare. The Alafin Sango drives them away but Oya his wife pleads with Sango and promises to appease the generals.

scene 2

Timi and Gbonka appear before the Alafin and demand to be sent into battle. The Alafin refuses. The threaten to revolt. They enlist their strength. Alafin appeases them and bids them to swear that the will keep

the peace for five years. Townspeople come to thank Alafin for peace already restored to Oyo.

scene 3

Two years later, Timi and Gbonka appear before Alafin and demand war. They don't listen to Alafin’s entreaty. They leave irt anger. They threaten to revolt. Alafin is left alone accusing himself for indulging the generals and making them so great that they are now un-controlable. How can he now keep his promise to the Oyo peope about war? Oya his favourite wife over-hears him; enters and puts forward a plan. Alafin calls a meeting of the Chiefs; sends Timi to Ede as a porter at the gate; thinking that the IJeshas would aurely kill him. Timi goes to Ede but becomes respected and loved. He is made their kind. Alafin now in more serious trouble. Oya still advises Sango to send Gbonka to fight Timi at Ede; to kill him or be killed.

scene 4

Gbonka at Ede; Fight starts, Timi never misses a short with his how and arrow but Gbonka forces him to sleep with his powerful spoil. He brings Timi alive to Alafin Sango. Trouble starts again. The two are again aline in Oyo. The townspeople came again reminding the Alafin about his promise. They disparse leaving Alafin alone. He is again worried. Oya comes again to advise him to tell his Chiefs that Gbonka and Timi should arrange a re-fight at Akosan. Market; where all the people would watch and hoping that one or the two may die, Alafin summons a messenger and announces a public feast at which Gbonka and Timi shall fight. Timi is eager to fight but Gbonka is worried about Timi's arrow. Finally he leaves for a help.

scene 5

Gbonka appears and calls for the WITCH. After giving costly presents the witch agrees to help him. Birds cry. The witch prepares pewerful charms for Gbonka. He is now a stronger man.

scene 6

The Fight: Timi raises his bow but Gbonka again putshim to sleep with the witches medicine; he cann now cut off his head. Alafin enraged: orders Gbonka to be burned as he requests; but Gbonka comes out aline from the fire. The people are terrified; they all run away. Gbonka is now stronger than the Alafin. Noise from the town. The people riot. The Oba is furious and kills many. The rost run away. He is alone. He now realises that the town is against him and he decides
